Services at Soul Work Institute

Welcome to Soul Work Institute, where we empower women in Metro Detroit to reconnect with their true selves, quiet their “Safety Seeker,” and live courageously and authentically. Our virtual therapy services are tailored to meet the unique needs of women seeking personal growth, emotional wellness, and spiritual connection. Let us guide you on your journey toward a more fulfilled, joyful, and authentic life.

Our Approach

At Soul Work Institute, we believe that healing and growth begin with authenticity, courage, and faith. Our compassionate and empowering approach is grounded in:

  • Authenticity: Helping you embrace your true self and align with your values.
  • Courage: Equipping you to face challenges, overcome fears, and move forward boldly.
  • Faith: Supporting your spiritual journey by incorporating Christian values and practices.

What Authenticity Means to Us

Authenticity is at the heart of personal growth. We guide you in peeling back the layers of societal expectations, past hurts, and self-doubt to uncover your true self. By helping you align with your core values, we empower you to make decisions and pursue a life that genuinely reflects who you are. Authenticity isn’t just about being yourself; it’s about being your best, most honest self in every facet of life.

Fostering Courage for Lasting Change

Courage is the bridge between knowing your true self and living it out. We understand that change can feel daunting, and fear often holds us back. At Soul Work Institute, we provide tools to help you quiet the fears rooted in your “Safety Seeker” while encouraging bold steps toward your goals. Through evidence-based techniques, we show you how to transform fear into actionable courage, giving you the confidence to navigate life’s challenges.

Integrating Faith in Healing

Faith is a cornerstone of our approach, providing spiritual strength to complement psychological tools. We believe that while therapy addresses the natural, it also opens the door for the supernatural work of the Holy Spirit. By incorporating Christian values, scripture, and prayer into sessions, we help you build resilience through trust in God’s plan. This integration allows for a deeper sense of peace, purpose, and healing beyond what therapy alone can provide.

Evidence-Based Techniques

We employ a range of therapeutic modalities to address your unique needs:

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT): This technique helps you identify and challenge unhelpful thought patterns, replacing them with healthier, more constructive ways of thinking. For example, we might work together to shift from “I’m not good enough” to “I am capable and growing.”
  • Internal Family Systems (IFS): By exploring and understanding the different “parts” of yourself, we work to heal the areas that are in conflict or stuck. For example, we may address the part of you that longs to take risks and the part that feels safer holding back.
  • Person-Centered Therapy: This client-led approach ensures you feel seen, heard, and valued throughout your journey. By fostering a non-judgmental and empathetic space, we enable you to explore your emotions and goals freely.
  • Mindfulness-Based Therapy: Mindfulness helps anchor you in the present moment, reducing anxiety and stress. Techniques like deep breathing and body scans allow you to observe thoughts without judgment and cultivate a sense of calm.
  • Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT): This forward-thinking approach emphasizes small, actionable steps toward your goals. Rather than dwelling on the problem, we focus on creating solutions and celebrating progress.

A Unique Blend of Psychology and Spirituality

What sets Soul Work Institute apart is our holistic integration of mental health practices with Christian faith. We recognize that healing isn’t just about addressing symptoms; it’s about nurturing the whole person—mind, body, and spirit. For instance, when discussing anxiety, we might explore both practical coping strategies and spiritual practices, such as prayer or meditating on scripture like Philippians 4:6-7: “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.”
